Lindsey Ross, Illustrator

Lindsey Ross, an illustrator from Eastern Prince Edward Island, dedicates part of her time to creating original illustrations, often using archival ink and watercolours.

"Pen and ink have always been my medium of choice because of its unforgiving nature. There’s no undo button—when a stroke goes rogue, you have to adapt. Creating something beautiful from that rogue stroke is deeply satisfying. My process always begins with a pencil outline, but the real work is done with pen, using varying line widths."

Lindsey's work is deeply influenced by maritime life, shaped by both nostalgia and firsthand experience.

“My past work was heavily influenced by a longing to be home on the East Coast. Many pieces were created out of homesickness while living in Vietnam or Vancouver, immersing myself in the culture I missed. My current work reflects the joy of that dream coming true—focusing on local nature and wildlife, and celebrating the slow pace of maritime life.”
